Component Design of Layer Structured Millimeter-wave Passive Imaging Module

(in English) Simple configuration and broadband characteristic are required for RF
module in passive millimeter-wave imaging. We have already proposed a layer
structured imaging RF module for low loss, low profile, and easy
manufacturing.
This module composed of lens antenna and detector module which is placed
at focus of the lens. Detector module is composed of horn antenna,
detector circuit, and microstrip-to-waveguide transition.
Waveguide fed horn
antenna and planar detector circuit are connected by
microstrip-to-waveguide transition. Since only one printed substrate with schottky
barrier diode is required and is located between the
two metal plates, detector module results in layer structure.
In the future, a transition, which developed by us and has quite wide
operation frequency bandwidth, can realize connecting structure which
operates over broad frequency bandwidth.
The measured and designed
results of components for RF module to carry out the basic examination of
millimeter-wave passive imaging are reported in this paper.
