In this paper, We measured what kind of influence gave for a transmission characteristic of an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signal through a switchboard for a PLC (Power Line Communication). At first, in a state without a branch line, it is understood that a transmission loss characteristic and PHY rate for the transmission inside a divergence breaker are the same to that for the transmission between a chief editor breaker and a divergence breaker, but the PHY rate of 185 Mbps on an in-phase transmission decreased to 150Mbps on an out-of—phase transmission. Next, when a branch line is added, it is clear that large attenuation occurs at the frequency where the branch line length becomes 1/4 wave length, but the PHY rate is affected hardly at all by the large attenuation, if anything, the PHY rate on the out-of—phase transmissionis is improved by the branch line. Finally, PLC modem is modelled with MATLAB/Simulink, and the measured and calculated values of PHY rate are compared with each other. As a result, it is understood that they have almost the same values on the in-phase transmission, but they have different values on the out-of—phase transmission. |
