Evaluation of VM-based Sustainable Stream Processing Environment

(in English) A demand for query processing over data streams such as sensor data is increasing.
Stream processing engines that fulfill continuous query processing for data streams have been focused.
Since these engines must continuously monitor data from information sources in long term, system failures bring serious damages to them.
Our research group has been developing a sustainable stream processing environment combining our stream processing engine and virtual machine technology.
In our framework, a node executes our stream processing engine within a virtual machine.
The node periodically creates a snapshot of the virtual machine, and distributes it to other nodes.
When a system failure occurs in the node, another node recovers the virtual machine from the snapshot.
This paper shows the experimental results using our sustainable stream processing environment.
