Reranking of Web Search Results using Regionality and Locality of Support

(in English) Social support for a Web page is usually expressed by the existence of hyperlinks linking to the target page in other Web pages. Locations of pages linking to the target Web pages might be distributed worldwide or restricted to some specific region. There are at least two types of uneven spatial distributions:(1) regionality which indicates density of particular area, and (2) locality which indicates bias of whole distribution. Existing ranking algorithms do not extract this type of feature, and do not utilize such spatial distribution information for ranking search results. In this paper, we propose a way to re-rank search results based on these features in order to improve local search.
