To significantly increase the data throughput without requiring additional bandwidth, application of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiplexing is promising. Recently, we proposed an iterative modified QRD-M, in which the transmitted parallel data streams are iteratively separated using their cyclic redundancy check (CRC) decoding results. In future wireless communication systems, high-quality and high-speed packet data transmission is a major requirement. In case of packet transmission, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ), which is a combination of ARQ and error correcting codes, is an important error control technique. In this paper, we apply iterative modified QRD-M to HARQ and evaluate its throughput performance to compare with that with conventional QRD-M and minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. |
