Field Test Results of DC Power Supply System Equipped with 80 Ah Stationary Lithium-ion Secondary Batteries

(in English) DC-power-supply systems with a maximum output current of 30 A were developed using stationary 80-Ah lithium-ion batteries and performance tests were carried out in laboratories and Base Transceiver Station in actual services. The system is designed for an outdoor setting. The lithium-ion cell can be recharged by a constant-current and constant-voltage charge method. Cell voltages of over 3.5 V/cell and almost same discharged electricity were obtained by discharges at currents ranging between 10hr-rate and 1hr-rate. A battery is composed of 12 cells and its own controller and used in parallel in the system. Battery weight and volume were reduced to about 1/4 and 1/3 respectively by the application of the lithium-ion batteries, compared to the conventional VRLA batteries. The DC-power-supply system showed excellent field-test results in the past 1 year.
