Kunio Ohno (Polytechnic Univ.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Based on the rapid development of computer hardware and network systems, information media of computer has been dramatically visualized to multimedia from text sentences. Multimedia as video or animation is interesting and easy to grasp, because that affects human sensation directly, while text sentences require the effort of thinking and understanding. Then visualization of computer media is not always favorable for human beings those days and in future. There exist some public opinions that recent juvenile delinquency is caused by the sensational visualized media. Cultural background of information visualization is something different between the Western culture and the Japanese culture. This paper describes the analysis and discussion of the differences.
