Image Retrieval with Visual Keys in Compressed Domain

(in English) The visual key image retrieval system, which partitions images into regions and retrieve the images with these regions, has been proposed. The system requires IDCT to extract features in each region if a database includes JPEG images and MPEG videos. The calculation costs should be reduced with increasing the number of images in a database, image sizes, and record time. In this research, the DCT domain visual key image retrieval system is proposed, and is evaluated by the subjective assessment with 10 subjects and 620 images in Art Explosion 600,000. The result suggests that the proposed system can reduce the calculation costs with the same level of the precision and the recall compared with the existing visual key system.
