Proposal and Implementation of a QoS-aware Routing Mechanism for Multi-Channel Multi-Interface Ad-Hoc Networks

(in English) To support real-time data transmission for audio and video communication in wireless ad-hoc networks, we propose a new routing mechanism in this paper. Our mechanism considers an ad-hoc network composed of nodes equipped with multiple network interfaces to each of which a different wireless channel can be assigned. By embedding information about channel usage in control messages of OLSRv2, each node obtains a view of topology and channel usage of the whole network. Then, a source node establishes a logical path on which application's QoS demand is satisfied and packets are encapsulated so that they traverse the logical path toward a destination node. Through experiments on a prototype, we confirmed that our mechanism can transfer packets over an appropriate logical path while effectively using multiple channels.
