Inter-code Interference Cancellation Scheme Using Soft Cancellation for Quasi-orthogonal STFBC-OFDM under Time and Frequency Selective Fading Environments

(in English) In quasi-orthogonal space-time-frequency block coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (STFBC-OFDM), data symbols are encoded over several antennas, several symbol intervals, and several subcarriers.
Thus, the influence of inter-code interference (ICI) on STFBC-OFDM is smaller than that on space-time block coded OFDM (STBC-OFDM) under time selective fading and that on space-frequency block coded OFDM (SFBC-OFDM) under frequency selective fading.
Nevertheless, quasi-orthogonal STFBC-OFDM suffers from ICI caused by time and frequency selective fading and quasi-orthogonality.
In this paper, we propose an ICI cancellation scheme using soft cancellation for quasi-orthogonal STFBC-OFDM under time and frequency selective fading environments.
Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed system with ICI cancellation at the fourth iteration is more than 3.5 [dB] better than that of the system without ICI cancellation.
