Symmetric WLP Clip Inductors

(in English) In WLP technology, high Q values for inductors can be realized due to the low loss copper wiring and the thick polyimide layers. However, asymmetric electrical characteristics are often observed for the inductors. It is found that the asymmetric characteristics come from positions of the underpass wiring. A novel symmetric clip inductor structure is proposed, where a underpass wiring is located at the same distance from both input and output terminals. Fabricated novel clip inductor exhibits symmetric electrical characteristics.
