A Study of the Noninvasive Thermometry for the Hyperthermia Applicator Based on the Reentrant Cavity

(in English) The hyperthermia, which heats cancer tissue around 43℃, is an effective therapeutic technique that is used with radiotherapy or with carcinostatic. However, it is necessary to use thermocouple or an optical fiber type thermometer to confirm a heating effect. In this report, we propose the noninvasive thermometry method paying attention to the characteristics of the electrical field of the TM mode formed between reentrant electrodes, and the temperature dependence of the dielectrics. In order to evaluate the possibility, numerical analysis using the FDTD method was carried out and basic examination of the thermometry which can be fused with a heating applicator was performed.
