A basic study of smoothing filter optimum to data of soccer-kicking motion

(in English) Soccer-kicking motions have been measured using a camera system, conventionally. The measured data contains the certain noise. To reduce the noise from the data, a smoothing filter was applied to the data. The recent studies, however, used the relatively low cut-off frequency that is same frequency as previous studies, though the camera performances improved. A part of the important characteristics of the data may be lost, as a consequence of using the conventional cut-off frequency. The purpose of this study is to investigate the optimum cut-off frequency of smoothing filter for the soccer-kicking motion analysis using the recent camera system. From the results, we suggest that the reasonable cut-off frequency of smoothing filter is 20Hz for the soccer-kicking motion measurements.
