Parallel Packet Processing Method Using MultiCore Processor

(in English) Recently, a demand of high-speed IP packet processing is increasing, according to the widespread of the broadband access environment. However, packet processing on the OS is difficult to realize a high-speed transmission with 1Gbps and 10Gbps at shortest packet length. On the other hand, along with the increase of integration degree of semiconductor devices, to overcome the increase of power consumption, the slowdown of improvement of processor effective performance integrated on to a chip, multicore processors have attracted much attention as next-generation microprocessor architecture. In this paper, we propose parallel packet processing using multicore processor. Finally, we show the effectiveness of our proposed method though experiments using multicore processor.
