In this correspondence, the construction of quasi-cyclic low density parity check(QC-LDPC) codes and
is investigated. It is shown that conditions for the codes to
have a girth $g \ge 8$ or $g \ge 10$ are derived. These results suggest that families of QC-LDPC codes
with girth $g \ge 8$ or $g \ge 10$ are relatively easy to obtain. Furthermore examples of specific constructions
with girth $g \ge 8$ or $g \ge 10$ are provided under the appropriate codeword length from several hundred to
several thousand bits for broadband communication. |
