Study of Equivalent Dipole Source Estimation by Dipole Layer Imaging and Independent Component Analysis

(in English) We have examined suitable estimation method for equivalent dipole sources inside of the brain. Noninvasive visualization methods of electrical activity are expected to analyze functional brain signal processing and to identify the position focii. We estimated an equivalent dipole-layer distribution from the scalp electroencephalogram by a spatio-temporal inverse filters. Equivalent dipole imaging was proposed to estimate cortical dipole layer distribution accounted for scalp potential. We separated each dipole layer distribution using independent component analysis (ICA) to identify the number, position, and moment of dipole sources. In the simulation, we studied the estimation accuracy of the combinational approach using cortical dipole imaging and independent component analysis.
