Power-Line Communication (PLC) based Local Area Networks (LAN) in ships are one of the promising applications of the PLC technology. The authors measured the characteristics of power-line in cargo ships last year. A feature of power distribution systems in the cargo ships is that all power-line cables in the ships are armored. In this paper, the transfer function of the training ship YUGEMARU is shown and compared with that of the cargo ships. The length of YUGEMARU is shorter than that of the cargo ships, and the unarmored power-line cable is partly used. But topology of the distribution system is the same. Furthermore, it is also shown that the degree of unintentional radiation depends on the outlet into which signals are injected. |
