Some Considerations of the Dips of the Antenna Efficiency Based on the Reflection Method Using the Method of Moments with Wire-Grid Model

(in English) The Wheeler method and reflection method are known as accurate and simple methods for measuring the radiation efficiency of small antennas. In these methods, the radiation efficiency can be evaluated by measuring the reflection coefficient of the antenna in free space and in the sheilding cavity or the waveguide with two sliding shorts. However, some dips of the radiation efficiency can be observed because of the cavity formed by the waveguide and two sliding shorts. Especially, the authors have proposed some techniques for avoiding the dips in the reflection method. In this report, we simulate reflection coefficients by the method of moments with the wire-grid model. We consider numerical dips of efficiency, after showing that the simulated results agree with measured ones.
