Extraction of the Speech Signal Based on the Comparison between Two Spectra of 2 Microphones Method under Ambient Noise

(in English) In this paper evaluations of an extraction method[1] of the speech signal based on the comparison between two spectra of a two-microphone system are presented. The directivity of one microphone shows an omnidirectional pattern, and the other two-microphone system shows like a figure-eight pattern. For sound incident at an arbitrary angle θ to an axis, the intensity component along the axis is reduced by a factor cos θ. Therefore, from the difference spectrum level between both output sound signals, which are controlled the same gain in the case of θ = 0, an arbitrary angle θ is obtained. The experimental results shows that in noisy environments: (1) performance is good with 4-cm spacing between microphones; and (2) the target speech sounds can extract well under white noise environment such as a signal-to-noise ratio of -5 dB.
