Electrical Characteristics of the W-loop Antenna mounted on a Car

(in English) For the terrestrial digital broadcasting, a W-loop antenna had been developed by FUJITU TEN LIMITED. The antenna is attached on a rear window of a car. The principles of operation of the antenna and radiation patterns in car installation are verified through calculations and experiments. However, the antenna input impedance in vehicle installation have not verified yet. In this report, the modeling method of a glass is studied to calculate the impedance of the glass antenna with high accuracy. As a result, the infinite dielectric substrate can be used, and the validity of the simulation is verified through experiments. In addition, the guidelines of the antenna installation on the glass are shown. Moreover, the effects of a defogger to the input impedance of the W-loop antenna in the car installation are verified.
