We developed three-dimensional SIP (spectral induced polarization) modeling and inversion algorithm. SIP
modeling algorithm is verified by comparing its result with three-dimensional integral equation method. Results from the two
different modeling method matches well each other. Inversion is verified by the numerical simulation for a simple isolated
body model in a homogenous half-space medium. Although it shows smoother distribution and somehow different value, the
location of anomaly is clearly seen in the resulting section. We build the cylindrical mesh by deforming the rectangular grid to
circular shape to apply out modeling and inversion algorithm to monitoring the physical property change of the core sample in
the laboratory CO2 injection experiments. We use 16 electrodes on the surface of the core model, and dipole-dipole type
measurement for that. When we apply inversion algorithm to the simulated data, the location and value of physical property is
well imaged at the resulting section. Afterward if we apply it to the laboratory monitoring of rock physical property, we could
clearly image the variation of resistivity and phase during CO2 injections. |
