Recently, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have attracted attentions of
many researchers for their wide range of applications, such as natural
environmental monitoring, environmental control in office buildings,
and precision agriculture. Control mechanisms for WSNs should adapt
to the variety of types of communication, i.e., one-to-one, one-to-many,
many-to-one, and many-to-many, depending on application requirements
and the context. In this paper, being inspired by foraging behavior
of ants, we propose a novel communication protocol, which is adaptive
to application requirements, robust to node failures, and scalable to
network size. |
