This article presents numerical results of the confinement loss in Bragg fibers. A multilayer division method allows us to simulate various structures aiming at practical use with high accuracy. The TE, TM, and hybrid modes are treated here. We analyze dependence of the confinement loss on cladding pairs, cladding index difference, core radius, and wavelength. Low loss modes are TE01, TE02, HE13, and TE03 modes in the order of increasing confinement loss. Detailed analyses are presented for the TE01 mode, the lowest loss mode. |
