Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have developed a web-based multilingual utterance collection system, named OTOCKER, for the medical field.
The purpose of OTOCKER is to act as a platform for intercultural communication.
Although, speech synthesis systems have improved rapidly, fluent and smooth speech synthesis is still a subject of research. Currently, it is difficult to carry out speech synthesis in various languages.
Especially, in a medical field, it is important that the meaning of sentences and the voice with expressing through nuance.
Therefore, we use an utterance collection system that collects people's voices directly.
The issues related to an utterance collection system are as follows: (1) insufficient number of correct sentences in the medical field and (2) high entry levels of recorded and collected voice.
We can solve the problem of shortage of correct sentences through a system that collects parallel medical texts.
Moreover, the issue of high entry levels of recorded and collected voice can be addressed by the use of w3voice.
w3voice is a web-based voice-recording system.
This system can be run only on a web browser.
This paper presents the design of OTOCKER, its prototype, and documents the results of its trial.
