Study has been being conducted for the super-wide-range microphone which covers the frequency range up to 100 kHz and has low intrinsic noise level. The authors has recently started the study for cardioid type super-wide-range microphone. The combination of already developed omni-directional capsule and newly designed bi-directional capsule covering the frequency range up to 20kHz was adopted as basic configuration. This paper describes the study on the arrangement of the two capsules, and also describes the development of a prototype microphone. The measurement result showed that the sensitivity of the developed microphone for backward sound wave was suppressed well for wide frequency range. |
