On a Transmission Rate Control MAC Protocol using Directional Antennas

(in English) Recently, several directional MAC (Medium Access Control) protocols have been proposed for wireless ad hoc networks. These directional MAC protocols improve spatial reuse of the wireless channel and extend communication range than that using omni-directional antenna. On the other hand, the MAC protocols achieve high transmission rate using rate controlling have been proposed. In this paper, we proposed a directional MAC protocol using rate controlling. The proposed MAC protocol achieve high transmission rate by relaying packets. We evaluate the throughput performance of our proposed MAC protocol compared to the MAC protocol which do not use relay node. In addition, our proposed MAC protocol mitigates the directional hidden terminal problems.
