In this paper, by applying bargaining game to resource allocation, we describe how to achieve high system throughput in multi-hop orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems under single-cell environments. In single-hop OFDMA systems, the system throughput can be improved by exchanging subchannels among routes based on bargaining game. In particular, a high system throughput is achieved by the maximal-rate scheme, which maximizes the total throughput. However, in multi-hop systems, the maximal-rate scheme causes a large difference in throughput among links along the multi-hop route and this difference can lead to low spectral efficiency. If only one multi-hop route is considered, the end-to-end throughput can be maximized by exchanging subchannels based on the max-min scheme, which maximizes the minimum value. Therefore, in order to achieve high system throughput in multi-hop OFDMA systems, a combination of max-min and maximal-rate schemes is proposed. Simulation results are provided to show that our proposed scheme can achieve a high system throughput in multi-hop OFDMA systems. |
