Distributed timing synchronization becomes an important element especially when we TDMA in mobile ad-hoc networks.
Among many timing synchronization algorithms proposed so far, Imai and Suzuki recently developed an efficient synchronization algorithm for vehicle-to-vehicle communications.
Despite of its efficiency, this algorithm suffers an undesired asynchronous state; so called mode-lock state.
This study clarifies the underlyingmechanism of this mode-lock state in their method.
Then we propose a modified algorithm.
By systematic simulations and analysis, our algorithm is verified to eliminate all mode-lock states and shows quick convergence to synchronization. |
