Recently, a single-carrier version of multi-user MIMO multiplexing has been attracting a lot of attention due to its low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). So far, many studies have been done assuming the single-cell environment. However, the link capacity of a single-carrier cellular system using multi-user MIMO has not been fully studied. In a cellular system, the same carrier frequency is reused at geographically separated base-stations. Therefore, the co-channel interference needs to be taken into account. In this paper, we evaluate, by computer simulation, the uplink capacity of single-carrier multi-user MIMO multiplexing using zero-forcing (ZF) detection, minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection, and maximum likelihood detection (MLD), assuming frequency non-selective Rayleigh fading channel. Also discussed is the effect of transmit power control (TPC) on the link capacity. |
