Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This report studies an index of radio spectrum use efficiency with degree of space multiplexing in account. We introduce a concept of "Information Flux" to evaluate spatial-temporal spectrum efficiency and propose "Spatially Averaged Information Flux Density" (SA-IFD) as that index. Information Flux is defined as a line originating from the transmitter of desired wave and terminating at the receiver of destination, where the thickness is the radio channel capacity (bit/s) determined by the SINR. It can be compared to a linear "pipe" having cross section size of the channel capacity or a bundle of "unit-capacity pipes" having 1 bit/s capacity. Information Flux Density (IFD) is defined as the density of the pipes crossing arbitrary line or plane in the observed space where its unit is bit/s/m or bit/s/m2 respectively. The proposed index, SA-IFD is given by integral of or averaging the IFD in the whole observed space and in specified frequency band so this index is proportional to channel capacity and distance between the transmitter and the receiver of each connection.
