| 抄録 | （和） | 本稿では,自己組織化マップ(以下，SOM)回路を用いた画像認識システムを提案する． 提案システムでは，まず，人物を含む画像からテンプレートマッチングを用いて顔領域を抽出する．次に，抽出した顔画像をSOMへ投入し，様々な顔向きに対応した個人用の顔画像マップを作成する．最後に，グラムシュミットの正規直交化を用いて， その作成した顔画像マップの参照ベクトルを基底ベクトルへと変換し， 得られた基底ベクトルを用いることで，未知入力画像を認識する． SOMは多大な学習時間を要する．そこでSOMを回路化した利点についても述べる． |
| （英） | In this paper, we describe an image recognition system using a Self-Organizing Map (SOM) circuit. First, we extract a face region by using a template matching from an input image including a person. Second, we operate SOM algorithm to the extracted face image, and make an indvidual face image map which cope with the face orientation discrimination.Finally, we translate the individual map to base vectors by using Gram-Schmidt Orthogonalization, and recognize unknown input image. In the proposed system, SOM takes much learning time. Therefore we also describe an advantage of the SOM circuit over a software implementation. SOM takes much learning time.
