Mobile measurements of the field strength of LF standard frequency wave on Asian and Transpacific routes

(in English) The mobile measurement of field strength and phase delay of LF radio signals has been made continuously on the Southeast Asian and transpacific ocean routes in May to June 2007 in order to estimate the coverage of JJY standard frequency waves as well as to evaluate effects of the atmospheric radio noise peculiar to tropical areas on the LF wave.
The field strength data of JJY standard frequency and time signals (SFTS) obtained up to more than 8000 km show the day-to-day variations that overlap over the diurnal trend decreasing with the propagation distance as expected from the theoretical analysis.
In addition, it is found that the rather high level of atmospheric radio noise peculiar to tropical areas might restrict the availability of LF SFTS service.
Results of the mobile measurement also endorse the validity of the prediction method of LF field strength recently developed to apply to the long distance propagation up to 16000 km.
