A Proposal of CSMA/CA using Selected Subcarriers for Multi-hop Wireless Networks

(in English) In multi-hop wireless networks using CSMA/CA protocol, retransmission of data packets according to decode-and-forward method and the contention of multiple wireless nodes cause the degradation in transmission performance. As one of methods to improve the performance of multi-hop wireless networks using CSMA/CA, different frequency channels (bands) assignment to each link can be considered. However, in case that the continuous frequency channel is statically assigned to each link, the transmission performance of multi-hop wireless networks will be degraded in frequency selective fading channel. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a new MAC protocol for multi-hop wireless networks using CSMA/CA. In the proposed protocol, each wireless node adaptively selects the subcarriers from all sbucarriers in available frequency bands, and assembles discrete subcarriers for transmission of data packets. The proposedMAC protocol also has the potential to enable the highly coexistence with the multiple wireless networks. Numerical results show that the performance of multi-hop wireless network using CSMA/CA can be much improved by using proposed MAC protocol.
