Difference of evoked potential in recognition of face and building

(in English) he study of ERP (event-related potentials) has shown specific ERP in recognition of human faces and the study using fMRI has reported the difference in processing of face and other object (specifically building) recognition. However fMRI has character of low temporal-resolution, so it is difficult to investigate the time-course of activity in the brain area. In this study, we investigated the activity for the face and the building recognition with the recording of EEG which has character of high temporal-resolution. We used the paired stimulus paradigms which have combination of two images, faces, buildings, and simple patterns. The stimulus is displayed at the interval of 200ms. When the combination of face image is displayed, the evoked response for late image are suppressed clearly in T6.
