[Invited Talk] Visual search performance reveals distinct features of visual cognition in schizophrenic patients

(in English) Our research has demonstrated that visual search data reveal following features of visual cognition in schizophrenic patients: (1) reaction times of schizophrenic patients are slower than those of normal counterparts, (2) preattentive process of schizophrenic patients functions at a level comparable to that of normal counterparts, (3) schizophrenic patients have a deficit in the focal attention process. In this paper, we review our 1996 and 2007 papers to describe those features in schizophrenic patients that are revealed by their visual search performance.
