Practice of Knowledge Management in Special Needs Education

(in English) In this paper we propose a powerful knowledge management system that archives teaching strategies and solutions for dealing with behavioral issues in the classroom, permits sharing of information among widely dispersed schools and other educational institutions, and supports collaborative development of effective teaching plans. The feature of the system is shown as follows. 1) Video records are created online during class by the teacher that show behavioral problems and how the teacher attempts to deal with the problems, and these records are easily archived on the Web as information that can be shared with other teachers and special ed experts. 2) Archived data includes video records, template formatted education records, and bulletin board records; and teachers and special ed experts around the country can share teaching examples that occur in classrooms on a daily basis over the Web. 3) Participants collaborate over the Web to develop case studies and teaching plans based on the shared teaching examples, and new special education teachers can access and use the archived case studies and plans.
