| (in English) | Bone mineral density (BMD) is generally measured in the central part of the vertebral body in X-ray CT image. It’s possible to measure BMD at each region in X-ray CT image, and grasping lower BMD region inside the vertebral body may be helpful in clinical diagnosis. In this paper, using X-ray CT images of male 40 subjects, BMD of the third lumbar vertebra (L3) and the first sacral vertebral (S1) were measured at each region. The present study showed that anterior, superior, and central regions of L3 and posterior, inferior, and central regions of S1 were lower BMD value regions. Therefore, if the BMD of these regions are selectively measured, prediction of fracture risk at vertebral bodies could be improved. | |
