| (in English) | A waveguide-type left-handed transmission line is proposed. The transmission line is composed of a rectangular waveguide in the cuttoff frequency and periodic stubs filled with dielectric. The transmission line with short stubs filled with dielectric is expressed by series capacitance and parallel inductance. The operation of the left-handed transmission line is described using the equivalent circuit. Replacing the short stubs with open stubs, the transmission line can be used for a leaky-wave transmission line. The dispersion characteristic of the left-handed mode is shifted with respect to frequency by changing the stub length. As the result the band gap between the regions of the left-handed mode and the right-handed mode can be removed. The impedance of two modes gets close each other, so that it is excited in the wide frequency range. The beam scan from the backward direction to the forward direction can be obtained. |
