A Study on Duplicate Address Detection for error MPR selection case
Kazuki Akima, Kenichi Mase (Niigata Univ.) AN2007-80
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) IP address assignment and duplicate address detection are important issues for MANET. PDAD is one of the duplicate address detection methods, and detects address conflicts based on inconsistent content of routing control message. In this case, detection performance is affected by transmission failures of control messages. In OLSRv2, erroneous MPR selections are occurred by address conflict, and TC messages may not be correctly forwarded. Therefore, PDAD algorithms may not be able to detect address conflicts correctly. In this paper, we present our present PDAD algorithms (termed SPDAD) and its implementation based on OLSRv2. We reviewed by simulation and results of SPDAD performance compared with PDAD-OLSR and show that our method out performs PDAD-OLSR in terms of time needed for address conflict resolution.
