Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, advanced object tracking methods by using wireless sensor networks are discussed. In conventional methods, there was a subject that an accurate tracking did not coexist with the power saving. In generally, an accurate object tracking is requireing high power consumption because it needs many active nodes. The high power consumption shortens the life time of the sensor network because most of sensor nodes are running by battery resources. To deal with this problem, we propose the method which can turn on the sensor node selectively along with the movement direction of the object. It is achieved by estimations of the object’s movement directions. Computer simulation results shows that the presented method have an ability to reduce the power consumption of sensor nodes without much deterioration of it’s tracking performance.
