Single-channel asynchronous distributed pricing (SC-ADP) algorithm is a channel selection and power control scheme which enhances the system throughput of single-hop radio networks. This algorithm preferentially allocates channels to links with good quality, therefore there is a large difference in throughput among communication links. In multihop radio networks SC-ADP algorithm might not necessarily achieve high system throughput because the link with the lowest throughput limits the end-to-end throughput of a given multihop route. The application of this algorithm to multihop radio networks has been considered. In this thesis, it is assumed that each station selects the route with the highest system throughput and transmits over multiple channels. In order to reduce the total power of a given multihop route and enhance the system throughput in multihop radio networks, a modification of SC-ADP algorithm named extended multi-channel asynchronous distributed pricing (EX-MC-ADP) algorithm is proposed. Simulation results reveal that the introduction of the proposed algorithm achieves high spectral efficiency in multihop radio networks with lower power than that of single-hop radio networks. |
