Parallel Distortion Cancellation for FFT Equalizers in Fast Fading Channels

(in English) Distortion cancellation for FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) equalizers was proposed that mitigates degradation caused by fast fading. The distortion canceller suppresses fluctuation of received signals fed to the FFT equalizer by subtracting some signals. Even though, those signals are made of demodulated signals of the FFT equalizer convoluted with channel impulse response, the demodulated signals are too erroneous to suppress fluctuation
which causes serious performance degradation in severe fading channels.
This paper proposes parallel distortion cancellation for FFT equalizers
which is able to improve the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance in fast fading channels. In this cancellation, channel matrixes made up of the impulse responses at different times are used for FFT equalization and suppression of the fluctuation. Finally, its BER performance is evaluated by computer simulation.
