Adaptive Active Time Control Scheme in Accordance with Traffic for Multihop Sensor Networks

(in English) The IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee beacon-enabled operation mode supports the sleep mode of ZigBee routers in cluster tree topology. It is necessary to make active time short and sleep time long for achieving power-saving. However, a problem arises that ZigBee routers become bottlenecks causing long
transmisson delay when there are routers to which enough active time is not assigned.This article proposes an active time control scheme allowing parent nodes to know whether the whole information transmission is comleted or not by receiving from child nodes. The proposed scheme achieves the short transmission delay by reducing the bottlenecks. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is shown by simulation.
