Non-Invasive Respiratory Monitoring using Variation of UWB-IR Power Delay Profile

(in English) This paper suggests a human respiratory sensing scheme using UWB-IR (Ultra-Wideband impulse-radio), where this is not invasive for human body. Respiratory movement creates periodic variation in the received power delay profile. Therefore the respiratory frequency may be measured by monitoring the power level at the corresponding sampling point. The simultaneous measurements for multiple human bodies are also expected because the return paths can be resolved in time domain. In this paper, the measurements were conducted for various scenarios and the usefulness of our suggested sensing scheme is confirmed.
