(in English) This is a technical report on an ID/locator separated network architecture that is being progressed in the AKARI Architecture Design Project, a new generation network design project at the New Generation Network Research Center of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan. The ID/locator separated network architecture enhances performance by providing better solutions to mobility and multihoming management, network renumbering, security and privacy, scalable routing, traffic engineering, etc. In this report, we describe how node identifiers are formed, how they are used in the protocol stack, and how they are resolved into locators during a communication initialization process. We also present a concept of hierarchical network structure that can utilize different locators and routing systems in each level.
