We constructed, using the NEURON simulation software, a neural network model that regulates thermotaxis and chemotaxis in C.elegans. Synaptic excitatory/inhibitory properties were assigned to be consistent to those predicted in published articles of experimental data, and the properties of other synapses in the network were given at random. Change in membrane potential of each neuron was observed when a thermal/chemical stimulus was given to sensory neuron(s). Possible synaptic properties were predicted by the potential changes of several interneurons that determine forward/backward movement. |
