Hierarchical Packet Header Format for traffic condition on Inter-AS Optical Networks

(in English) This paper proposes a novel hierarchical optical packet header in order
to preserve optical transparency of paylaods in optical packets at a border
of Autonomous Systems when Optical Packet Switching technology will be
applied to Internet.
Internet consists of a large number of ASes and each AS has a different
policy for its operation. At a border between two ASes, several traffic
conditioning such as packet filtering and policing are performed in
accordance with their policies. In order to perform such functions,
header information within a payload is required. This causes
optical-electrical conversion of payloads in optical packets and it is
difficult to preserve its optial transparency.
In this paper, we consider the hierarchical optical packet header across
AS borders in order to preserve the transparency at end-to-end communication.
