(in English) In recent years, MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) systems achieving high data rate transmission have been receiving major emphasis. To enhance the throughput in the MIMO radio communications, we should consider not only the SNR of the received signal but also the effects of multipath on the statistical characteristic of the MIMO channels. When we propose MIMO system using small size portable terminals having multiple built-in antennas, it is important to analyze the effects of human body on the characteristics of the MIMO channels including the influence of the blocking objects. In this paper, we measured the statistical distribution of eigenvalues of 8 × 8 MIMO channels including human body and blocking objects at 2.45GHz and 5.2GHz. As a result of these measurements, the decrease of the first eigenvalue compared to the fourth eigenvalue becomes about -10dB for the tested communication models with assumed small size portable terminals.
