QoS (quality of service) control is one of the key technologies for the NGN (next generation network). In the conventional method, the bearer quality on the carrier network is managed, but in the NGN, the end-to-end
QoS monitoring is needed to manage QoE (Quality of experience). However, the quality of VoIP services is not guaranteed in general. In addition, there are numerous VoIP terminals and the differences in their implementations strongly affect QoE. Thus, quality monitoring technologies need to be embedded in the VoIP terminal. These technologies are recommended in IETF RFC3611 ”RTCP XR” and ITU-T recommendation P.564 as the framework for QoE monitoring, but their usage is not shown. So we proposed the QoE monitoring method of VoIP speech by using RTCP XR, but the implementation method of RTCP XR is not clarified. Therefore we define method implementation method of RTCP XR based on experimental results. |
