Foliage plants have the ability to purify all kinds of air pollutants. In this paper, the purification characteristics of two golden pothos plants to ammonia were investigated. Consequently, we obtained the following results: 1) the purification capacity varies relatively widely according to individual; 2) there was a meaningful difference between the purification capacities of the two plants; 3) an adequate correlation is estimated between the quantity of carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption and ammonia purification speed. Also, the plants’ bioelectric potential reaction was measured at various electrode layouts when the plants were exposed to ammonia. It became clear that golden pothos responds to ammonia. This response was detected regardless of the electrode layout. |
